Greenwich Pizza Thins: So Meaty. So Cheesy. So Crispy: The anatomy of a perfect thin crust pizza, only from Greenwich

Sharing an article from Mam. Grace Bondad Nicolas
954666_10200153911352450_189386804_n

Whenever I am out, first thing in my mind is food. Perfect for this rainy season is hot, thin and crispy pizza from Greenwich. It's the Social Media Launch of the official website for the 2nd laguna Blogging Summit and perfect for this launch is a place at Philfirst Building along Ayala avenue at Makati. The organizers came with the support of the Philippine Red Cross and Zoomanity Group under Robert Laurel Yupangco, the event went well especially with the yummy and delicious smell of food from Greenwich Pizza.

Personnel from Greenwich Pizza were very accommodating, they asked us first our choice for drinks while they were preparing the conference room. For days actually, I am craving for their thin crust pizza, their PR sent the pictures through email and yes, I am tapped right away.Today’s pizza lovers have become more discriminating in their choices. Their preferences have leveled up to include not just the right topping but the crust as well. While some prefer to munch on thick crust, others opt for the crispier thin crust for a more flavorful feast.

The 2nd Laguna Blogging Summit officially started its Social Media campaign by launching its new website. All netizens or curious social revolutionist could now check the updates, speakers and sponsorship packages at "labsph.com" which is just newly constructed with the help of SEO strategist Mark Acksay.
The list of speakers are visible in front page and now everyone could have an advance free registration online. For this year, the 2nd Laguna Blogging Summit is expected to be bigger since the first one was a huge success and contributed to the huge influx of tourist to the province of Laguna.

"The laguna blogging summit last year was a huge success judging from the no. of participants who attended. More importantly we were able to project a positive and progressive image for the province under the transformative leadership of gov "ER" ejercito - estregan. The social media event of the Year was able to help laguna increase tourism arrivals from 2.2 million in 2008 to 4.8 million in 2012. We hope to continue this partnership with 2labs and the social media community for a more progressive and vibrant "bagong laguna" ! Mabuhay ang 2Labs at Mabuhay ang Pilipinas !" According to former 2nd District Board Member of Laguna and now the new Philippine Red Cross Assistant Secretary General Neil Andrew Nocon. Greenwich Pizza restaurant at Philfirst Building along Ayala avenue at Makati sponsored the Social Media Launched and committed to support all #2LaBS meetings.

I am a pizza lover since I am like in gradeschool. I like thin crust oh well, less carbs for me since I am on diet. There are a few reasons why more and more people enjoy their pizzas served on a thinner crust. Pizza lovers prefer crispy thin crust because they can savor the flavor of the toppings more than on a bready thick crust.

When the manager at Greenwich Pizza delivered the different flavors at the table, she said that it's tastier when it's hot so we dig in right away. While there is clamor for crispy thin crusts, most thin crust pizzas today become soggy over a short period of time and some are even too oily, dampening the appetite of thin crust fans. The good news is that Greenwich, the country’s favorite pizza and pasta chain, unlocks the secret to enjoying thin crust pizza with yet another brand new treat. The new Greenwich Pizza Thins is the delightful latest addition to the Greenwich menu touted to tickle the taste buds of discriminating pizza lovers.
“We are constantly on the lookout on how we can satisfy the cravings of our customers,” shares Cel Javelosa, assistant brand manager for pizza. “The new Greenwich Pizza Thins is our answer to the requests of pizza enthusiasts who wish to savor our rich pizza toppings in a whole new way.”

In its official launch at R Space in Makati City, fun activities were prepared that that would play on each person’s senses, notably the sense of taste. Greenwich served its sumptuous crispy thin crust pizza for the guests to enjoy. And right from the first bite, guests discovered why Greenwich’s new offering is far better and more enticing compared to other thin crust pizzas available.

For starters, Greenwich uses only the freshest and high quality ingredients to ensure consistency. Greenwich spent considerable time in its test kitchen to bring crispy thin crust making to perfection. It is not oily and remains crispy from first to the last bite.

Complementing the freshly made crust is Greenwich’s signature toppings that have been the talk of the town. The new Pizza Thins has the combination of premium toppings, 3 types of cheeses on crispier and tastier crust. Rich, flavorful and never short in serving, these toppings make Greenwich the preferred choice by pizza lovers of all ages. Discover your favorite Greenwich Pizza Thins available in Signature Special, Hawaiian, Pepperoni and All Meat starting at a P189 for double size pizza. Bringing the Greenwich Pizza Thins to life is the new wave of Greenwich barkada who were also formally introduced during the launch. They are sought-after radio jock and TV personality Andi Manzano, popular radio DJ and host Gino Quillamor, and model turned entrepreneur Marco Lobregat. Greenwich main man John Lloyd Cruz was also on hand to complete the new barkada who epitomize the fun-loving nature of the Greenwich brand.

With a new and better thin crust in the offing, Greenwich is sure to whet the appetite of pizza lovers anew. There’s now another good reason to savor the country’s favorite pizza and discover why more and more Filipinos get their pizza satisfaction only with Greenwich.

Discover a new flavorful pizza experience with Greenwich Pizza Thins. Available in 4 delicious variants: Signature Special, Hawaiian, Pepperoni and All Meat starting at P189 for a double size pizza.
When in Manila or wherever we are, we will always craving for this thin crust pizza from Greenwich. we are very thankful that they support the 2nd Laguna Blogging Summit.

Breakfast Bliss at Café 1771

Eggs Benedict
Eggs Benedict

Whether or not you’re a morning person, a hearty and delicious breakfast is a great reason to wake up early—especially when it's breakfast at Café 1771, where breakfast is served with enough imagination and charm to make anyone’s day.

NEWBFmenuback-MINTGREEN_NOV16

NEWBFmenufront-MINTGREEN_Nov16

Start a busy day in the quiet, library-inspired Lounge, or perk yourself up with Café 1771’s coffee concoctions amid the cheerful blue and fuschia hues of the Whimsy area. Chef Vicky Pacheco’s breakfast menu is carefully thought out, with nearly everything made from scratch, and using only the best and freshest ingredients.

Corned Beef Hole in One

Corned Beef Hole in One

Consider, for example, the Hole-in-One Corned Beef, made of spiced corned beef hash—prepared in-house, of course—with cubed potatoes and a dense sunny-side-up egg in the center. Served on a sizzling plate with rice or wheat bread on the side, this all-day favorite is big on size and flavor.

Corned Beef with Organic Eggs

Corned Beef with Organic Eggs

Considered the ultimate reward for egg lovers, Eggs Florentine in a Boat is two poached organic eggs with creamed spinach on a puff pastry and your choice of homemade ham or smoked salmon. This treat comes topped with  a velvety hollandaise sauce poured generously over the perfectly poached eggs.

Adobo Flakes in Fried Rice

Adobo Flakes in Fried Rice

Still not convinced? The irresistible aroma of Café 1771’s Adobo Flakes Fried Rice is sure to get anyone out of bed. This comforting offering is made of both pork and chicken adobo mixed with garlic rice and spring onions, then topped with a sunny-side-up egg.

For cheese lovers, the Croque Madame is a must-try – baked layers of ham, gruyere cheese and creamy bechamel sauce over a slice of English bread.

Spanish Tortilla with Chorizo

Spanish Tortilla with Chorizo

Power diners will choose to energize their day with a Spanish Tortilla with Chorizo. This dish is not to be confused with the well-known Mexican tortilla. Rather, it is a hearty Spanish omelette made of chopped potatoes, onions, chorizo and organic eggs.

It’s also been said that Café 1771 has the best pancakes this side of town. With the tang of sour cream playing off the deep sweetness of syrup made from scratch, Café 1771’s fluffy Sour Cream Pancakes are sure to bring cheer to anyone’s morning. Chef Vicky highly recommends the caramelized walnuts and bananas as toppings.

Bircher Muesli

Bircher Muesli

A traditional, fiber-loaded meal made of granola mix, Bircher Muesli is mixed nuts, raisins and yogurt with fresh fruit toppings as a tasty finish, and with just the right amount of sweetness in it.

If you believe that a great breakfast in good company can set the tone of the rest of the day, make sure to give your breakfast all the glory it deserves—at this bright and cheerful space called Café 1771.

NAIA TERMINAL 3 PASSENGERS BLOCKED FROM TAKING THE REGULAR TAXI

MUST WATCH & SHARE para maiparating natin sa kinauukulan at upang malaman natin kung ano ang katotohanan sa likod nito.with reports from Camille Diola (philstar.com)

MANILA, Philippines - Passengers who arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 recently found themselves unable to use an exit gate where they could hail regular metered taxicabs.

In a video by Nitya Saulo taken around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night, domestic flights passengers complained to security guards blocking the upper level exit gate at the airport's newest and biggest terminal.Raymond Domingo of art organization Dakila said that the airport scheme seems to
be designed to force passengers to hire the pricier airport cabs waiting at the open exit ways.

"Not all people can afford and not all people who took the plane is that rich enough to just close our eyes and pay the amount of the yellow taxi downstairs," Velasco said.Regular taxicabs have a flag-down rate of P40 while airport taxis charge passengers a flag-down rate of P70.

Saulo told Philstar.com on Monday that after the passengers filed a formal complaint against the management of the terminal, the guards temporarily allowed them to pass.

Cheers to Good Times

Have you ever been in this situation?

Everyone's worried and anxious—waiting for the result of your presentation. You haven't slept properly for days working on that pitch. Then your phone rings. You almost drop it since you've been running on coffee all day. You're nervous but you answer. Yes! You win the client and everyone in the office starts buzzing, then screaming. You deserve to party. Go and celebrate this good time with your team!

M2A1_2-002

“Partying is our way of saying ‘yahoo’ and expressing our delight in achieving success. Since the leap is very important to us, our way of celebration should be something that we will remember together with that accomplishment,” says Von de Torres, Managing Director, Emperador Distillers.

De Torres believes that partying over wine makes good times even better. “There are so many things in common about wine and happiness. As an American Chef-Author, Julia Child would put it, wine is one of the agreeable and essential ingredients of life. We all agree to happiness and its essence in our life so as with wine in important celebrations.”

M2A1_1-001

But in order to have a real good time, be sure to get only the real and fine wine. People could all agree that only with fine wine can celebrations be truly enjoyed so it should be wine that gives authentic world-class flavor that special moments deserve. It should be something that doesn’t only fit the occasion but a high-quality wine that suits the taste.

Emperador Distillers brings Rossi Sweet Red, a sweet red wine crafted from grapes grown in California’s sun-drenched vineyards and bursting with flavor and aroma, for your cheers to good times. It has layers of vanilla, bright cherry and wild raspberry flavor creating a different kind of sweetness.

DSC_0373-002

“Yes it is sweet but remains a real wine. It’s that different kind of sweetness that makes it unique but authentic. This is how real red wine should be. You can only expect such authenticity from the number one table wine in the world.”

De Torres warns against unauthentic sweet wines. “They’re basically bottled with very low alcohol content and lots of sweeteners, which is a far cry from authentic Rossi,” she says, adding that Rossi Sweet Red was specifically created to be sweet and be consumed cold, “As in with ice.”

DSC_0372-001

One can already hear the purists scoffing but wine on-the-rocks is already becoming a trend in the US. Rossi Sweet Red, in particular, is recommended to be enjoyed with ice.

The ice, De Torres said, brings out the flavor and makes for a smoother finish and doesn’t compromise the taste and actually makes it even better. Even if the ice melts, the taste stays perfect so everyone can savor all the sweetness and real wine flavor.

So celebrate sweet victories, big or small—winning a pitch, wedding engagements, graduations, having a baby—with a wine that is just as sweet and a bit more refreshing. These are good times worth partying for. There’s a reason to be happy and to celebrate every day. Whether baby steps or big leaps, you can always cheers to good times with Rossi Sweet Red.

Have some “WE Time”

Moments are most enjoyable in the company of special people. Getting together with family, friends, significant others is important in celebrating and enjoying life.

DSC_0373-002

Occasions such as birthdays and weddings and milestones like graduation and career promotion, are more fun when celebrated socially. Gathering with special people allows us to share our stories, engage them with our feelings, and interact with them. This is why a local distiller encourages Filipinos to have some “we-time.”

“Getting together with family and friends or ‘we-time’ is equally important and can be just as relaxing,” says Von de Torres, Managing Director, Emperador Distillers.

DSC_0372-001

The best way to have “we-time” with friends and loved ones is over fine food and good wine.  A glass of good real sweet red wine can create a difference in every celebration. As it denotes grandness, having wine can make even very simple occasions unforgettable.

Emperador Distillers brings Rossi Sweet Red, a sweet red wine crafted from grapes grown in California’s sun-drenched vineyards and bursting with flavor and aroma, as your perfect companion for making every “we-time” more fun and remarkable. It has layers of vanilla, bright cherry and wild raspberry flavors, creating a different kind of sweetness.

M2A1_1-001

According to De Torres, every “we-time” can be made more memorable with Rossi Sweet Red. “‘We time’ can be made sweeter. Rossi Sweet Red is best suited for the Filipino palate—a different kind of sweet but still real red wine.”

DSC_0481-006

Apart from its unique sweetness, Rossi Sweet Red proves it goes well with any celebration. Not only can it be paired with nearly any kind of food, but may be enjoyed—on-the-rocks—making it a great alternative to regular beverages (e.g. sodas, juices, iced tea).

M2A1_2-002

“We’re used to partnering food with sodas or any cold sweet beverage so sweet red wine is a natural progression. Its sweetness and appropriate alcohol content, plus the cooling sensation of ice cubes make Rossi Sweet Red on-the-rocks your drink for ‘we-time’.”

“We-time” provides a chance to create shared experiences and stories with friends and loved ones that stand the test of time. Collective memories are made in every “we-time” spent. Make sure that these are good and happy recollections. Celebrate and cherish them the best way possible, with Rossi Sweet Red.

There’s Plenty of Fish in the Sea at Sentro 177

Sentro 1771 presents seafood dishes that will surely find a home to your family’s repertoire of top picks whether you’re aiming to be healthy or simply finding comfort from your all-time favorite seafood choices. Guaranteed low in saturated fat, these dishes are not only irresistible, they’re also good for the heart.

Fresh Smoked Fish Spring Rolls

Fresh Smoked Fish Spring Rolls

At Sentro 1771, tasty definitely means healthy too especially if you’re having smoked milkfish spring rolls (P270) which could serve as a filling and satisfying appetizer or entree. A festive combination of smoked milkfish, salted egg, mustard greens, onions and tomato that are rolled like spring rolls, it’s served with slightly tangy vinaigrette for some zing. An explosion of color, texture, and balance of flavors, it’s a lip smacking dish minus the guilt.

Seafood Sinigang Sa Miso

Seafood Sinigang Sa Miso

Equally-appealing and filled nothing but goodness of the sea, seafood sinigang sa miso (P250) is a classic favorite minus the meat but never lacking with mouthwatering elements such as gindara, milkfish, and shrimps seasoned with miso for more depth and flavor. Good food begets fresh and all-natural ingredients, and that’s the promise of this dish. It’s spirited, chunky, and heartwarming especially that the broth is made from scratch. Plus, it has chockfull of colorful diced veggies from tomatoes, okra, taro corms, daikon, water spinach, and eggpplant stewed in tamarind. And as a charming signature tradition, you get the chance to adjust the level of sourness of the soup by sipping and tasting it before serving.

Rated GG

Rated GG

Fried usually gets a bad rap as something calorie-laden, but not Sentro 1771’s Rated GG or galunggong (grilled mackerel scad, P230 and P445). Yes, fried healthy food does exist at Sentro 1771 as this dish is fried in olive oil, filleted and generously sprinkled with toasted bits of garlic. Executive Chef Vicky Rose Pacheco not only takes pride in creating another certified Sentro 1771 original, the lowly fish was a given a rightful and impressive reputation considering galunggong is a rich source of protein and zinc.

If your family is in for smart eating, count on Sentro 1771 in satisfying you with something healthy and tasty too.  There’s nothing quite anything else like a brown rice that can make a marvelous pair with these amazing, healthy choices, so it’s a good thing that Sentro 1771 has this in the menu.  So whether you’re a healthy eater or seekers of all-natural whole foods, find these Sentro 1771 dishes indulgent, never leaving behind the taste and joy of eating while bringing a new appreciation for something deliciously low-calorie.

Sentro 1771 in Greenbelt 3 is open from 11am to 11pm (Monday to Sunday) while Serendra is from 7am to 10:00 pm (Sunday to Thursday) / 7am to 11:00pm (Friday to Saturday). For inquiries and reservations, call Sentro Greenbelt 3 (02) 757 3941 or Sentro Serendra (02) 856 0581.

Light, pillowy and comes with a nutty center, the Gianduja Truffle Mousse (P250 net) combines the dark and white chocolate praline flavors.  Structured with elements that will surprise the palate, its sweetness comes from the base made of chocolate sponge then followed by marshmallows with cashew nuts and topped off with chocolate mousse as a velvety finish.

Sugar-free Coffee Pie

Sugar-free Coffee Pie

And who wouldn’t want the 1771 Group of Restaurants signature dessert, the sugar-free coffee pie (P220 net)? An epic recipe from the family of Executive Chef Vicky Rose-Pacheco for over twenty years, the addicting secret is in the crisp texture of the combined flavors of Dutch cocoa and coffee with cashew nuts. And with no bells and whistles or outré ingredients, this version is sweetened with coconut sugar and lightly dusted with cocoa for an awfully memorable dessert minus the guilt.

A good cake not only serves as a delightful centerpiece—the very presence of it on the table marks a celebration itself.
